Fallen Solider
Today a solider was buried in Beverly who died from a roadside bomb in Afghanistan. I had wanted to go to pay my respects as he traveled through the city to the cemetery where he will be buried. Unfortunately, Ethan and I were unable to go because of naptime. However, I thought about that young man today and what he sacrificed. As I pushed my son in his swing this morning and listened to him alternate "wheeee" with "mommy," I thought about a mother less than a mile from me who was looking at a casket drapped in an American flag and was saying goodbye to her son. I am grateful to the men and women who serve in the military. My brother is one of them. I just pray that my own child never enlists.
